Hooray! Another year of Midsummer Scream!
This was my third year in a row getting to attend the convention, and this year I got to spend 2 days running around!
You would think with a few years of experience under my belt that I'd be a lot better at putting together a game plan LOL but it was so crowded I spent most of my first day dragging myself through the stalls dehydrated and overwhelmed. I hardly took any pictures on Saturday as I fought for my life to survive, but Sunday is where I locked in.
The highlight of my weekend was absolutely meeting the legend himself, JIGSAW!!
I initially stopped by the Lionsgate booth for a picture with the facade, but had no idea a special guest would be heading my way... While taking more pics in the Hall of Shadows right around the corner, this diva photo bombed me!! Like a siren's song I followed him in disbelief back to the Lionsgate booth.
The Universal booth was my most anticipated stop this year. Last year they had one booth for Halloween Horror Nights and a separate booth for Universal Monsters, but this year they had just one booth. I visited this booth both days, but on Sunday it was outrageously packed. Once inside I could hardly turn the corner!
I quickly understood the craze once I saw the one and only HamiKuma. We unfortunately didn't have time to wait to meet him but he very kindly waved to us on our way out!
This was one of the only pictures I got on Saturday... I really wanted to take a pic in front of it on Sunday since my outfit matched the colors, but HamiKuma's line was too powerful. This pic is still cool tho :)
On Saturday I did get to meet my best friends The Bride and The Monster in this spot :) Unfortunately the lighting was so rough that those pictures are not even shareable :(
On Sunday I returned with a digi cam and a dream.... and unfortunately my friends were not there waiting for me :(
I at least left with some pics of myself that I love :)
They were both still there for me in a way...
I can't believe we're getting Sinners at HHN!! I dreamed of times like this...
I'm so excited we're getting Hellraiser at HHN!! Growing up, my Nina (godmother) threw the coolest Halloween parties. She had so many cool decorations and animatronics, and one of her animatronics was Pinhead! Her love for Halloween has definitely had an influence on my own. This feels like such a special year :)
I had another taste of home at Midsummer Scream this year! I was so excited to see The Winchester Mystery House had a booth this year, I definitely left with some goodies.

One of my favorite booths at Midsummer Scream, I can't believe I didn't buy any vintage decor!
I don't remember seeing this mural last year, but I was so excited to see it this year! In college I took a film class that solely focused on John Carpenter's films and I fell in love. I was so excited I saw him from afar this year on the convention floor as he had a signing!
My love for Texas Chainsaw has skyrocketed this year and I think I circled this booth at least 5 times each day trying to decide what to buy. I finally left with a sick baseball style shirt, ready for haunt season!
One of the best parts of Midsummer Scream is the Hall of Shadows. I love getting a small taste of the Haunt season! One plus of the move to Anaheim for me is... I can't wait to see how the Hall of Shadows expands!
One of my favorite house's last year was put on by Fear Farm, so I was real excited to see them again this year. I absolutely loved the facade this year, it reminded me of Monster House! But at the end of the maze there was a claustrophobic section... and I learned I really didn't like that feeling LOLL
I was so excited to see Universal Horror Unleashed had a booth in the Hall of Shadows. But it wasn't what I was expecting... It wasn't a maze or a scare zone... Which was a little disappointing, but still cool to see them. I visited Horror Unleashed in Vegas for the first time this past Summer and had the time of my life! Keep an eye out for that post, coming soon! ;)
We ended the night at The Fourth Horseman in downtown Long Beach, just a few minutes away from the convention center. It's a horror themed pizza place with arcade games and they play horror movies nonstop! I was so excited to see The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari playing when we walked in.
And that's it for Midsummer Scream 2026! I'm really going to miss having Midsummer Scream in Long Beach, but I look forward to what the move to Anaheim has in store for us horror fans!
